This article is a continuation of the previous article “Energy and Peace of Mind“. It is not written to be understandable on its own. I recommend to read the previous article and once more bring into mind the table and the figure about our energy budged. This article dives deeper into the impact of Area E on Area A, and how area E develops during a human life.
Area A includes the energy for maintaining our physical health. That does not result in a constant demand, but depending on our condition it can be very little or a lot of energy. When our physical health gets out of balance or stressed by tough surroundings, the demand in this area goes up. That is not a problem as long as there are sufficient reserves, and as long as energy can be taken from the areas B to E. Area E is the area for work on ourselves, for personal development, for solving conflicts in our world view. Those are the activities in this area. There we are flexible and only active, when areas A to D leave energy available for it. However, area E also includes our mental health. Our mental health is related to what we called peace of mind in the previous article. Unsolved conflicts in our worldview are a burden for our mental health. And same as with the physical health, the mental health requires more energy when its condition gets worse. And the energy required by our mental health has the highest priority, it can take energy from area A. That is why the figure mentioned above shows the areas arranged as a ring.
Our mental health is usually not subject to sudden changes. Although an individual conflict can be very strong, it is usually many conflicts over a long time that affect our mental health negatively. So area E can take energy from area A, but in a slow process. Both area A and E have a base demand of energy to maintain our physical and mental health. This base consumption is also there when we are not doing any conscious activity in those areas. For A a the consumption increases when we are physically sick. In area E the base demand is going up with the number of unsolved conflicts that we carry with us is our worldview, wich are often going back to childhood. During our life, more conflicts build up and continuously increase the base consumption of area E, until we start to actively solve conflicts.
When we are born we have a generous energy reserve. The energy potential is more than sufficient for all five areas. This reserve becomes less for most of us until we are about 30 years old. At that age we typically develop the ability and interest to solve conflicts in our worldview and clean up area E. Only when we start solving conflicts, the base energy consumption of area E will stop growing.
As children we normally directly integrate an experience in our worldview. At that age we are not yet able to question input from our parents and others around us. Then we also include conflicting content into our worldview. That is normal. Already as a kid we notice those conflicts, and we feel a burden that comes with them. But usually we can only begin solving the conflicts when we are older and more mature.
Every unsolved conflict increases the base energy demand of area E. But we have enough reserves to cope with this steadily growing demand. The situation only becomes critical in most cases, when we are still not solving any conflicts at an age of around 50. Then the base consumption in area E becomes so high, that the little remaining energy for area A can go below a critical threshold.
With the active solving of conflicts it is not possible to increase the energy demand of area E to a level critical for area A. Only the base consumption of area E cuts into the energy of area A. When area A comes close to an energy deficit, all interest in active work on our worldview or in solving conflicts disappears. Then there are no more dynamic energy needs in area E, but the base consumption caused by our unsolved conflicts remains. If our physical health condition becomes worse causing area A to demand more energy, a critical energy shortage can arise, if there is no more energy to take from areas B, C and D. This is the case when those areas have already stopped their activities due to a lack of energy.
