The field of knowledge most accessible to us is the inanimate, mineral world. In that area, Erkenntnis is easiest for us. The laws of this world are written into it, giving it structure and predictability. Mankind trains their ability to gain knowledge in a first step in the mineral world. We do so with physics, astronomy, chemistry. Impressive progress was made in all of these fields in the past centuries. The way we think today is shaped by the investigations of the mineral and physical world, and modern science likes to observes all phenomena from this perspective. That becomes evident in the attempt to find a cause for every phenomenon that we come across within the material world. Life itself shall be traced back to the smallest particles and the laws controlling them. We even postulated “dark matter” as a result of phenomena that refuse to be explained with the matter we can see or measure, showing that we refuse to abandon the idea of matter causing everything. We are very persistent about that idea. Only when we get into a deep crisis caused by an insurmountable stagnation of progress will we accept defeat and agree to look further. This crisis is what we are getting into right now. And we have to dive into it, because we must look very closely at the material world to strengthen our thinking sufficiently. Only then are we able to find with our own strength the connection to what we can call energy, information, or spirit. As materialists, we train our thinking power, which we have to preserve and develop further when we are moving on.
To rediscover the world unbiased starting with sensory perception and to recognize it with the power of our own thinking, we had to leave behind all old, revealed knowledge. So all knowledge not rooted in sensory perception had to be rejected and abandoned. To this day, many scientists reject everything that cannot be measured as speculation. And that is how it has to be. It is obvious to approach also questions about living beings and ourselves in a first step with an thorough analysis of their mineral bodies. Life is considered an odd side effect of complex physical processes, which happen in a body like they do in a machine or computer. For this to be plausible, not only the appearance of consciousness has to be traced back to material structures, but also the formation of those organic structures must be traced back to the laws of physics, the laws of inanimate matter combined with the often cited selection of a variation that popped up by chance. We struggle with both, and there are more and more indications that the causality is twisted here. The bible also says that logos was first, and then heaven and earth were created by it. And physics also begin to consider the thought that something like information has to exist alongside matter and energy, having an effect on both.
We have come to a very exiting point in time now. Having gone a long way in the investigation of the inanimate world we have found out that it cannot explain life, and even fails to explain many phenomena in the world that we assume to be lifeless. We make observations that cannot be brought into line with the idea that the universe with all its phenomena can be explained and traced back to visible or measurable particles. Looking at matter, we have found out that there must be more. We will need to find new concepts, which will allow us for the first time to fully understand old knowledge we got from revelations. Now we have come far enough with the training of our thinking power to begin with the observation of life. And life we can observe best individually on ourselves, because we are alive and can see not just our body from the outside, but our mind and spirit from the inside as well. At this point a deeper understanding of the world is only possible with a deeper understanding of who we are.
