Humans need protection to live on this planet as we do. They need a suitable environment and they need shelter. Also, they need air, water and food. There are very special circumstances required, and for us all of them are fulfilled. Still, life is not easy on this planet. Although everything is available in theory, we are confronted with many problems. Experience so much shortage. Are we unable to create a reasonable environment that allows everyone to participate in the excessive resources of the world? Have we failed with this task? Are we still on it? Is it our task to begin with?
It can be so easy to make someone happy. And it can also be so difficult that it appears to be impossible. Are we the architects of our own happiness or should we rather try to make each other happy? This question is certainly of some relevance when we consider living together with others. And living all alone is something very few humans can do. Still, there is a trend away from the group or family towards fighting through life alone. Most people are, besides their tasks in society, also confronted with the question of who their truly are and what they intent to do with their life, what they want to achieve. Finding a balance between self sufficiency and social behavior could be another possible task in the life of a human.
We live in a protected space. The sun has a protective and providing role, as does planet earth. The body that we live in can only exist in such a space. How did it come into existence? By chance? Or was it created? For example by an almighty god? Or by beings that we cannot perceive with the sensory organs that we developed? That we are unable to perceive everything there is, that is something modern science has also concluded by now, thanks to the mathematical models used to describe the universe. However, we usually imagine the invisible part of reality to match the part that we know. And all we truly know is inanimate matter, subjected to the laws of physics. And we try to explain everything with only that.
We cannot really name all the things protecting us. Neither can we say how we got here or what a human really is. Even the things that threaten us are only partially known. That makes them appear even more threatening and scary. Naturally, we want power so we can protect us effectively. Or we look for affiliation with powerful people who we hope will protect us. Additionally, it is possible to organize in groups, like countries, states or republics. Those have become so complex in their structure and many rules that it becomes very difficult to see how the power is distributed within them. Theory and reality do not always need to align here. On top, there are additional organizations and companies, that can collect lots of power, beyond the borders of a country.
This way, we grow into power structures that we have not chosen while alive here, and that we have neither fully understood. Like the sun and the earth they provide for us and protect us. But they can also become dangerous for us, if we do not learn to recognize their dangers and avoid them. When interacting with other people it can also happen that we are confronted with intrusive behavior. It is usually enough to receive a threat of intrusive behavior. We experience that as a problem, especially if we do not trust the powerful people or groups of people pushing through rules that we shall follow. Trust is essential when we look for protection provided by a powerful human of a powerful organization.
The situation becomes especially difficult for humans who trust nothing an no one. They need to accumulate all the power required for safety in themselves. If they have family, they need even more power to protect them as well. This will cut into the freedom of the family members. However, it is not possible to concentrate the power needed for perfect protection into a single person. If we try, we must become desperate and fail to meet our own demands. We need to give trust. Still, we are allowed to be picky and we should be reasonable when we decide who deserves our trust.
